Here’s the game-changing Resolution to restore your vote in the Illinois GOP

|

Below is a copy of the Resolution I’ve drafted in advance of our upcoming Illinois Republican State Convention in downstate Collinsville on May 24 & 25.

If this Resolution is afforded a fair up-or-down vote on the Convention floor by ALL delegates on the second day of the Convention (the only day the full delegation meets together), then I can enthusiastically urge all committed Republicans to pay the $75 attendance fee and get to Collinsville next month.

For this Resolution to get the floor vote it deserves by the full delegation on the second day of the Convention, it first has to be approved by the Platform & Resolutions Committee on the first day, Friday, May 24.

We are still waiting for the full list of names of the persons who will comprise that Platform & Resolutions Committee. But we do know it will be comprised of 17 people, one chosen by each member of the state central committee (are you starting to realize how important this state central committee truly is?).

We can do more when we know the full composition of the Platform & Resolutions Committee. But for right now let’s focus the pressure on state chair Don Tracy. Please take a minute to email him now at Chairman@illinois.gop and politely demand that he call for this Resolution to get the fair up-or-down vote it deserves by the full delegation. We deserve a guarantee in advance that this crucial reform isn’t going to just be smothered again on the first day of the Convention by ringers the Boss Hoggs decide to stock on the Platform & Resolutions Committee.

This Resolution deserves a vote on the Convention floor by all the delegates. Allow it to be voted up-or-down by all delegates who attend. That’s all we ask. Republicans need and deserve that pledge in advance from our state party poohbahs, starting with state chair Don Tracy.
